【Vket Cloud】 VketCloudSDK Ver14.2 Update Overview
VketCloudSDK has been updated to Ver14.2 on October 30 (Wed) 2024!
While there are quite a lot of changes and improvements, we'll introduce some of the major feature changes on this update!
For in-game updates and changes on the official website, see the following article:
🔶New Features
🔷 World Uploader 4.0
The World Uploader now includes an "Add World" feature, a simplified way to add worlds that was previously available only on the Vket Cloud official website. Now, you can seamlessly add and upload worlds directly from the SDK!
Additionally, you can edit existing world information through the World Uploader.
To get started, click "Add World" in the lower-left corner of the World Uploader:
After clicking, select the team managing the world, input the world name, description, and a thumbnail, then click "Create World" to create it. Under "Advanced Settings," you’ll find options for adding extra images or display images for mobile devices.
🔷 Feedback Feature
A new feedback feature allows you to submit feedback quickly if you encounter issues or have suggestions while using the VketCloudSDK. Previously, you could only send questions through Vket Cloud’s Discord server, which could be a bit hefty… which you can send feedback directly from the SDK!
Go to the Unity menu, select "VketCloudSDK" > "Components and Bug Reports Form."
Feel free to report any issues or suggestions! If you need a reply, please post in the "Questions, Requests, and Bug Reports" channel on the Vket Cloud Discord server.
🔷 3D Data Visualization in Scene
Previously, ".hrm/.hltf" and ".glb" files added to the VKC Item Object weren’t visible within scene files, but now they are! You can also view a 3D preview in the inspector for each file.
🔷 Detailed Data Display for HEO and HEM Files
The inspector now displays detailed data for HEO and HEM files, including polygon count and shader names for HEO files, and animation names and duration for HEM files.
*Note: HEM files created with VketCloudSDK versions 12 and earlier will display length value as "1", so please be aware.
🔷 VRMA Support
Animation files compatible with VRM, known as VRMA files, are now supported. You can now add VRMA files to VKC Item Object components.
For more details on VRMA, see here 👇
🔷 Pickable Items
Simply put, this new feature allows users to pick up items. To enable it, turn on "Pickable" in the VKC Item Object component. You can even configure the item’s following bone and size. For more on setup options, refer to the manual.
Note that this feature operates as locally, which the “Sync Pickable Item” Activity is being released on the official asset store for those wanting to globally synchronize with other users. If you’d like others to see your object being held, just add this activity to the object.
🔷 Gizmos
Gizmos are scene or hierarchy icons designed to improve clarity in your development process.
Previously, for instance, it was impossible to determine the direction of a respawn point’s icon, but now it has been updated to include orientation indicators.
You can now distinguish between standard Cubes and VKC Item Object Cubes at a glance. Additionally, hierarchy icons now change to yellow for warnings and red for errors in the debug console.
🔷 Tone Mapping
This feature allows you to easily adjust overall screen brightness and contrast.
You can now create worlds with various expressions, like a brighter or darker atmosphere or a muted color palette.
To use it, go to "VketCloudSettings," find "RenderingSettings" under Advanced, select "VKC Setting Rendering," then check the "Tone Map" box and input your desired values.
For details on each option, refer to the manual.
🔷 "Create Basic Object" Added to GUI Tool
A new "Create Basic Object for VketCloud" menu has been added to the GUI Tool for faster GUI editing.
Previously, you had to either load and edit sample data or add every object manually, but now you can add them instantly with this new method.
Note: This is under the "GameObject" tab, not the "VketCloudSDK" tab, so please keep that in mind.
🔶 Improvements & Changes
🔷 Debug Console UI Improvements
The Debug Console UI now offers enhanced filtering color schemes and adjustable text sizes for better usability.
🔷 Other Fixes & Adjustments
The official manual now includes instructions on adding UI objects using VketCloudGUI, which was previously omitted. See the GUITools manual.
GUITools ManualWe’ve fixed an issue causing blurred text within the Unity editor.
